August 2007. The band Phace O.S. has just left the stage and none of the members are satisfied with their performance. They all know that they've reached the end of a rocky road. No drama, no tears, just a feeling of relief for being able to move on.

Fredrik, the lead singer, writes his first solo song the very next day. The first version of "The Promise" is recorded the day after that and his solo career has started. The debut E.P. "Now, Can You Picture Me?" is released in May the following year and is downloaded 5,000 times the first week and more than 50,000 times before the year is over.

The following E.P. "Blood=Life" is released in February 2009. The time has now come to go live and the first gig takes place in May. On stage with Fredrik are Fredrik Holm and Mathias Alrikson.

Since then, the band has been named "The Hoarse Horses" and Ida Ståhl has joined the crew. They are, of course, essential for the new E.P "Kolme". The sound is maybe a little less electronic than before and Fredrik himself thinks that the new songs are the strongest ever. He has though, as always, a pretty hard time when it comes to explaining the genre of their music.

- Ehrm… imagine a journey that starts with Bowie, Tom Waits, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, The Clash, The Jam and Patti Smith. The next stop includes The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen, New Order, Nick Cave, The Smiths, Jesus & Mary Chain and The Stone Roses. Then we're off to Massive Attack, Portishead, Pulp, Bob Hund, Faithless, Radiohead and Björk before we reach our destination, meaning Fleet Foxes, Fever Ray, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective and The Big Pink.

- Maybe the combined impressions would sound somewhat like we do… or maybe not... maybe nothing like that... I don't know!
